The most important step in preparing for a capital
campaign is to conduct a thorough and objective
feasibility and planning study. Only a professionally-conducted study
will provide your chapter with the information it needs to make an
unbiased, informed decision. During the feasibility study, your plans
and objectives are presented in confidence to a carefully selected
cross-section of alumni who are asked for their candid evaluations.
A carefully implemented feasibility study identifies campaign leadership
and pacesetting gifts. It is a gracious and courteous method designed
to involve individuals whose time, energy, and money will be essential
in a campaign by seeking their advice and counsel long before they
are asked to work in, and contribute to, the campaign. It also effectively
involves and pre-sells key leaders in a non-soliciting setting.
During the feasibility study, Omega staff will conduct confidential,
face-to-face interviews with your chapter's most capable constituents.
Valuable information is also obtained from a mail survey sent to other
key alumni. The entire study can be completed within 60 to 90 days.
